RPHI FIR

RPHI VACC aims to provide the most realistic philippine virtual air traffic system simulation service that is as close to the real thing as possible when flying on the VATSIM network.

Radar Services And Procedures

Primary Radar Equipment are located at:

1. Mactan with a range of 180nm
2. Manila with a range of 60nm
3. Subic with a range of 60nm.

Secondary Surveilance Radar coverage are located at

1. Laoag with a maximum range of 250nm.
2. Tagaytay with a maximum range of 250nm.
3. Mt.Majic with a maximum range of 250nm.

Radar Services And Procedures

Radar units are operated as an integral part of the Phlippine ATS system and provides radar service to aircraft, to the maximum extent practicable, to meet international requirements. Many factors, such as radar coverage, controller workload and equipment capabilites, may affect these services, and the radar controller shall determine the practicability of providing, or continuing to provide, radar services in any specific case.

Pilots shall be advised on commencement and termination of radar services.

Radar identification is achieved according to the provisions specified by ICAO.

Radar control service is provided in controlled airspace to aircraft operating within the Manila TMA, Mactan TMA and the Subic TMA and certain areas under the jurisdiction of the Virtual Manila Area Control Center. This service may include:

a) Radar seperation of arriving, departing and enroute traffic;

b) Radar monitoring of arriving, departing and enroute traffic, to observe and note any significant deviation from the normal flight path, airway or route.

c) Radar vectoring to provide course guidance.

d) Traffic information on other aircraft observed on the radar display, which may be in such proximity to its position or intended route of flight to constitude a hazard.

e) Assistance to aircraft in distress and VFR aircraft in weather difficulty.

f) Information to assist in the navigation of aircraft.

g) Assistance to aircraft crossing controlled airspace.

Termination of Radar Service

Aircraft being provided with radar service shall be informed immediately when, for any reason, radar service cannot be continuously provided. In such event, the radar controller shall issue instructions to revert to non-radar standard seperation.

Reduced Vertical Seperation Minimum (RVSM)

RVSM airspace is prescribed within the Manila FIR and within controlled airspace between FL290 and FL410, except in the Manila South Sector areas that shall remain froM FL310 - FL410. The RVSM levels for the four major ATS routes in the Manila FIR (via N892, L625, N884 and M767) would be FL300, FL320, FL340, FL360, FL380 and FL400. RVSM approved aircraft operating on routes that cross the four one-way tracks would be assigned the eastbound levels FL330, FL370 and FL410 or westbound levels FL310, FL350 and FL390 accordingly.

Mactan ACC Procedures

Aircrafts operating at or below FL280 shall be handled by Mactan ACC East/West providing only radio service. For flights operating above, FL280, Manila ACC South takes precedence.
