BIGGER VENUE, BIGGER ACTIVITIES!

AIRFORCE ADAC HANGAR AND 410TH RAMP

The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta never fails to bring its audience exciting surprises. Topping the list is our new-found home at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) grounds. Though it entails more work for the organizing committee, this promises to make the events for spectacular to the audience. Still within the vicinity of Clark Airfield Pampanga, more space will allow better view from the crowd area, perfect for kite-flying, bigger area for our picnics and bazaars. The partnership with the AFP also assures better security not just for our guests but for our flying machines as well.

CLARK
Few had ever expected to hear of Clark again due to damage caused by Mt. Pinatubo's eruption in 1991. But an ambitious and comprehensive development plan spearheaded by the Clark Development Corporation has given the region a new lease of life—one that is set to eclipse its military past. A pioneering project that has already taken shape in Clark is the 188-hectare Mimosa Leisure Estate, developed by Mondragon Leisure and Resorts Corporation, a subsidiary of Mondragon International Philippines, Inc. The Department of Tourism (DOT) envisions developing the estate further as a world-class leisure and recreation destination, set amidst centuries-old Mimosa rain trees — from which it derives its name. The estate has since opened the 86-hectare Mimosa Gold and Country Club with a 27-hole championship golf course, international standard accommodation at the Holiday Inn, restaurants and access to more than 11 duty-free stores. Other entertainment facilities include a water theme park plus various casinos around the area. The first casino, Mimosa Regency, is conveniently found right beside the Holiday Inn, bringing opulent Las Vegas-style gaming traditions to the traveler's doorstep. The DoT foresees opening one casino every year to a total of five gaming facilities. Even in its development stage, the Mimosa Leisure Estate has the facilities to satisfy the most discerning business traveler, convention delegate or sport pilot. Not to mention its variety of indoor and outdoor activities will keep leisure travelers happy. Also, a key component in Clark's rebirth is its conversion from a military airport into a civilian facility (See www.clark.com.ph).

Getting to the Clark Special Economic Zone by car is easy. One simply needs to take the North Luzon Expressway from Manila and exit at Dau, Mabalacat. After which, a left turn towards Angeles City would bring you to within an easy right turn to Clark itself. The trip should take about an hour and a half from Manila.

The event continues to believe in its objective to promote the Philippines as a sport aviation destination in Asia and to increase awareness of aviation in the country.
