In skydiving one thing is guaranteed, YOU WILL LAND NO MATTER WHAT!
But when they invented the wind tunnel, it is like a flight simulator that we do in our PC except that we are the aircraft now that flies.

You mean, you hone your "flight"-controlling skills in a wind tunnel? Sounds like heaps of fun, though
However, would flying in a wind tunnel be cheaper than a real free-fall jump? A wind tunnel tends to be an increadibly expensive piece of kit, plus they require heaps of kilowatthours of electricity to blow that wind so fast as if you were doing free-fall. Of course it will normally be safer to train in a wind tunnel than in a real jump, as like you said landing is guaranteed at the end of every single jump...

What I would REALLY like to do one day is fly on one of those vertical blowers they sometimes have on a well-assorted theme park or fair grounds. Two counter-rotating fans blowing upwards...

THAT EXACTLY WHAT THOSE SKYDIVERS DO INSIDE THE WIND TUNNEL IS TO GET THE DETAILED TRAINING SUCH AS FREEFLYING(UPSIDE DOWN/HEAD DOWN),SIT-FLYING AND THE BELLY FLYING(NORMAL FREEFALL POSITION), STAND-UP .THE WIND TUNNEL JUMP MASTER CAN MONITOR YOUR MOVEMENTS AND MAKE THE NECESSARY CORRECTIONS RIGHT AWAY AND REDO IT RIGHT AWAY UNTIL YOU PERFECT IT.NEXT WILL BE THE ACTUAL SKYDIVE TO EXECUTE WHAT YOU HAVE PRACTICE IN THE TUNNEL. IT'S A LITTLE PRICEY THOUGH, BUT IT IS A LOT OF FUN!
IT IS OPEN TO NON SKYDIVERS TOO! $35 FOR TWO MINUTES OR THE MORE TIME YOU BUY OR BLOCK TIME THE CHEAPER IT BECOME.
I THINK THEY STILL HAVE THE OUTDOOR WIND TUNNEL IN FLORIDA THAT THEY USED IN THE MOVIE DROP ZONE.

There's a similar installation in Malaysia (as of 2 years ago -- i don't think it's been dismantled). I've lost the information temporarily, but i will dig it up. Open to tourists.

One of these days, i'll sneak off from the wife and pair myself up with a session (or two). When i get back (smiling and with a greatly reduced bankbook), i'll just say i went womanizing.
